Caftan Rym

Ivory, and a thousand tiny flowers.

Caftan Rym is a full-length piece cut in one, from an ivory ground worked with dense hand embroidery. Diamonds and small flowers climb the fabric in vertical bands — coral pink, sage green, lilac and buttercup — lit by crystals set one by one across the surface. Down the front runs a braided ivory trim finished with a long row of covered ball buttons.

The cut is wide and easy, the way an abaya is: it falls straight from the shoulder, and the ivory belt that comes with it is what draws the waist. Leave the belt off for a fuller, more fluid line. Deep slits at each side let the caftan move as you walk, and the whole piece is fully lined, so the embroidery never touches the skin.
